UNITED NATIONS, Jan 29: India expressed appreciation to the United States for addressing the long-standing Gaza conflict, noting progress in implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which supports a US plan for a deradicalized Gaza and its redevelopment under a transitional “Board of Peace.”
Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish highlighted the massive reconstruction challenge, including 60 million tons of rubble, and called for innovative approaches, sustained international support, and safe humanitarian access, especially for women and children.
India reiterated its support for a sovereign, independent Palestine coexisting peacefully with Israel through dialogue and diplomacy. He also noted India’s humanitarian aid exceeding $170 million and emphasized India’s broader commitment to peace, stability, and development across the Middle East, including Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen, while urging inclusive and sustained diplomatic engagement.
