Villagers ban sale of liquor in Bollonggre

TURA: The villagers of Bollonggre- BI under the leadership of its Nokma (headman) have decided to completely ban the sale liquor in the village. The decision was jointly taken during a public general meeting held recently at the Bollonggre Multi Facility Hall.

While informing this, the Nokma of Bollonggre- BI, Willi S Sangma said that the decision to completely ban the sale of liquor was taken following an incident where two inebriated local youths were run over by a stone laden truck on the night of May 4.

The incident had reportedly taken place at 11:00 pm in which one Leben Ch Sangma and Alwith M Marak were killed. During the meeting a resolution was taken to completely ban the sale of liquor and to hand over to the authorities those violating the prohibitory order.
