Jowai, Feb 5: Young bodybuilding sensation Mayalang Pakem of Jowai has brought laurels to his hometown after clinching three gold medals in major bodybuilding and physique championships held in Guwahati, Assam, late last month.
The promising athlete, son of Plan Lyngdoh and Stillda Pakem of the Mynthong locality, Jowai, delivered an outstanding performance at the Mr & Ms East India (Zonal Bodybuilding & Model Championship), held at the Rukmini Nagar Auditorium, Guwahati, on January 31, 2026. Competing against top contenders from across the eastern region, Mayalang displayed remarkable conditioning, symmetry and stage presence to secure the first position, earning a gold medal. Building on that success, Mayalang continued his golden run at the Mr & Ms India Natural Bodybuilding Championship 2025–26, which was held from January 31 to February 1, 2026, at the same venue. In this national-level event, he once again topped the field, winning another gold medal and asserting his dominance among the country’s emerging bodybuilding talents.
Mayalang further added to his medal tally by clinching the top position in the Men’s Physique category, completing a hat-trick of gold medals across the two prestigious competitions.
