SHILLONG, Feb 12: In a shocking incident in Nongthymmai village, Eastern West Khasi Hills, one Kerang Sawkmie is suspected to have been burned to death by his two uncles and a friend.
According to police, the three accused confessed on Thursday to burning Sawkmie’s body to ashes and dumping the remains into the narrow channels of Wah Khapdom.
Sawkmie went missing on February 6 after leaving home with his uncles and friend for work. Instead, the group consumed alcohol, leading to a violent altercation.
When he failed to return, his family grew concerned. A friend claimed he left early, leaving Sawkmie with the uncles, who gave unclear answers.
