Conference
The 39th Annual Conference of the North East Regional Orthopaedic Surgeons Association (NEOSCON 2026) will be held in Shillong on March 6 and 7. Organised by the Orthopaedic Society of Shillong (OSS), the conference is themed ‘Challenges in Neglected Fractures,’ and will feature keynote lectures, scientific papers and poster presentations, case-based discussions, and two hands-on workshops titled ‘Direct Anterior Approach Hip Workshop’ and ‘Foot & Ankle Workshop – Calcaneal Fracture’.
Office-bearers
The Dorbar Shnong Laban has elected its new members for the term 2026-29 at a general meeting held on Saturday. The new members are Edward L Kharwanlang (Rangbah Shnong), Rangdap Kharshiing (Assistant Rangbah Shnong), Raja L Nongpiur (general secretary), Daniel Syiemlieh (joint secretary), Randolf B Kharbuli (assistant secretary), Vernon E Syiem (social secretary) and Joydeep Lyngwa (treasurer).
Condolence
Members of Gorkha Secondary School Alumni Association, in its meeting held on Monday, condoled the demise of Kumar Biswa, who was a life member of the association. In the meeting, the members observed a 2-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
