Shillong author’s book presented to health experts at Delhi event

SHILLONG, March 16: Great Minds on India, a research-based book by Shillong-based author Salil Gewali, was presented as the official gift to over 500 international and national dignitaries at a major medical conference held in the national capital.
According to a statement here, the International Conference of the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre (RGCIRC) took place from March 13 to 15 at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Rohini.
The event focused on ‘Neuro-Oncology (Brain and Spine Tumours): Innovations in Multidisciplinary Cancer Management’, bringing together surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and neuroscientists from across the globe.
The work from Meghalaya was endorsed by Dr. IC Premsagar, Chief of Neurosurgery at RGCIRC, along with Dr. Manoj Sharma of Maulana Azad Medical College and Dr. Sanjay Jain, Director of Anand Hospital, Meerut.
The conference featured a distinguished international faculty, including Prof. Hugues Duffau from France, Prof. Michael Sabel and Prof. Marion Rapp from Germany, and Prof. Sujit S. Prabhu and Dr. Sonika Dahiya from the USA.
Other experts represented institutions such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (USA), Great Ormond Street Hospital (UK) and the National University Health System (Singapore).
