Over 85 kg ganja seized in Iewduh raid; one held

SHILLONG, March 25: In a major anti-narcotics operation, the East Khasi Hills Special Cell, along with the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) and Lumdiengri police, seized 85.945 kg of ganja near the Iewduh Jeep Stand on Wednesday.
Police recovered 10.09 kg of the contraband from one Amos Nongrang, while another 75.855 kg was found abandoned at the site. In addition to the ganja, authorities also seized a quantity of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and locally brewed liquor during the raid.
The seized items have been taken into custody, and a case is being registered at the Lumdiengri police station. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the abandoned consignment.
