SHILLONG, April 4: Behavioural and cultural researcher Anmol Diddan has released his new book, Burnout Highway: How Our Society Fuels Exhaustion and How to Set Yourself Free.
Published by Greenleaf Book Group, the book offers practical strategies to manage chronic workplace stress and reassess the relationship between money and personal fulfilment.
It explores how societal conditioning and corporate pressures contribute to exhaustion, particularly in India, which is noted for having some of the longest working hours globally.
“Burnout Highway is a culmination of many things in my life—education, upbringing, work and global cultural experiences,” Diddan said.
“I hope it gives readers structure around charting a path out of burnout and building fulfilling, emotionally sustainable careers,” he added.
In the book, the author examines the milestones individuals are taught to desire and the actual sense of achievement they provide. He presents a framework for navigating professional challenges while prioritising emotional well-being and values.
It may be mentioned that Diddan, who spent his early years in Shillong before moving to Mumbai and eventually New York City, has a background in behavioural research and previously worked with Google across India, Ireland, Singapore and the United States.
He now works as a consultant helping professionals manage career transitions and burnout.
