Programme
- The Tura Garo Senior Citizens Forum organized a programme on environmental awareness at Sasatgre village last months. Speaking on the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary, Noverfield Marak appreciated forum and stressed the need of protection and preservation of the existing streams and rivers.
- The Office of the Joint Director Soil & Water Conservation, Research & Traning, Conservation Training Institute, Byrnihat joined with the rest of the world in celebrating the World environment day on June 5 with the Theme “Raise your voices not the Sea Level”. The function was attended by the officers, staff, school teachers, pupils of theConservation Training Institute, Byrnihat and also the 41st batch Field Assistant Trainees.
- The Department of Sociology, NEHU organized a programme on the occasion of World Environment Day which included the release of a documentary film ‘Magical Mawlynnong: God’s own Garden’, produced by Assistant Professor of the department, Dr Rekha M Shangpliang.
- Glakyn Academy Higher Secondary School observed the Environment Day with a host of programmes and MLA Jemino Mawthoh planted tree saplings and also addressed the students.
Camp
Terapanth Mahila Mandal, Shillong is organizing a 10 day aqua pressure and su-jok therapy camp for the betterment of the public in large at Shree Rajasthan Vishram Bhawan, luckier Road from June 7 to 16. The morning session will be held from 9 am to 1 pm and the evening session will start at 4 pm and will end at 8 pm. The camp will be operated under Dr. Shiv Kumar Tiwari from Chandigarh, who is expert in curing ailments like, joint pain, saitika, blood pressure, diabetes, headache, paralysis, migraine, cervical, spondylitis, asthama, etc.

KHADC summer session will commence from June 23 at 11 am at the council hall.
Inauguration
Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma has consented to inaugurate a Day Care Centre on the June 7 at 2 pm in SAN-KER.
