At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, major Hollywood studios and filmmakers unveiled key updates on several upcoming films and projects.
Christopher Nolan showcased The Odyssey, his upcoming epic starring Matt Damon as Odysseus.
He described the film as a timeless story that has lasted 3,000 years and confirmed it is the first feature shot entirely on IMAX cameras using newly developed quieter technology.
The ensemble cast includes Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Robert Pattinson. Nolan also shared that the film, his first since Oppenheimer, is nearly complete and explores themes of family and homecoming. An extended clip featured the Trojan Horse sequence.
Steven Spielberg previewed his sci-fi film Disclosure Day, starring Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor, calling it a mysterious “experience” and emphasising original storytelling.
He also discussed UFO fascination and the importance of theatrical releases for the film industry.
Warner Bros announced the working title of its upcoming Game of Thrones film as Aegon’s Conquest, focusing on Aegon the Conqueror and expanding the franchise’s cinematic universe.
The film is written by Beau Willimon, with ongoing TV spin-offs also in development.
Timothée Chalamet spoke emotionally about completing Dune: Part Three, calling it a career highlight. He hinted at a darker version of Paul Atreides in the final chapter of Denis Villeneuve’s trilogy, set 17 years after the previous film and releasing in December. (Agencies)
