Zeenat Aman on Dum Maro Dum: ‘sublime haze’ memory

Veteran actress Zeenat Aman shared an Instagram post revisiting her iconic song Dum Maro Dum, recalling its shoot and her youthful ambition. She humorously questioned whether age or marijuana made her memory of the shoot feel like a “sublime haze.” She noted the song was originally planned as a duet between Lata Mangeshkar and Usha Uthup, but composer R.D. Burman ultimately chose Asha Bhosle’s voice, which became legendary. Zeenat credited Asha Bhosle for shaping her early success and invited fans to share their memories of the film and song. She said the post was also a tribute to Asha Bhosle and reflected on the enduring popularity of Dum Maro Dum, which has achieved cult status over time. It coincided with April 20, associated with cannabis culture. (IANS)
