SHILLONG, April 21: The Airports Authority of India has allotted the tender for the expansion of the Shillong Airport, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said on Tuesday.
“The contractor is expected to start the work shortly,” he said while adding that officers of the Transport Department have been asked to communicate with AAI to find out the details about the contractor and the expansion plan.
Dhar also said that the second phase of the Assam-Meghalaya interstate border talks would resume once a new government is installed in Assam.
He said that the Meghalaya government is trying to resolve the issue at the earliest.
The second round of border talks will seek to end the debate and confusion over six remaining disputed areas.
