Olivia Rodrigo has said she experienced “real romantic love for the first time” while writing her upcoming album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, due for release on June 12. In an interview on On Air with Ryan Seacrest, she explained that she began working on the album during a period of new emotional experiences in a relationship. She said she was inspired by love songs that often blend happiness with sadness, longing, and vulnerability, which she feels gives them emotional depth. Rodrigo added that she initially set out to write a “sad love song” but found the project evolving into a mix of emotions, reflecting self-discovery and personal growth. She described the album as deeply introspective, shaped by being in a real relationship that helped her understand herself better and explore new emotional layers. (IANS)
