SHILLONG, April 24: The Mylliem Block Congress Committee (MBCC) on Wednesday evening convened a meeting to reorganise its leadership following the recent defection of local MLA Ronnie V. Lyngdoh to the National People’s Party (NPP).
During the meeting, Lionel Nongkhlaw was appointed as the new president of the MBCC. The induction of the new office-bearers was conducted by Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Vincent Pala. The meeting was attended by senior leaders, including East Khasi Hills District Congress Committee (DCC) president Niel Antonio War and MPCC Joint Secretary Manuel Badwar.
Addressing party workers, Nongkhlaw highlighted the challenges facing the constituency, including inadequate healthcare, lack of support for farmers and the neglect of the youth.
He also sought the cooperation of the people of Mylliem to help the party fulfil its developmental commitments.
