Shillong, April 26: The East Khasi Hills District Yogasana Sports Association, in association with the Meghalaya Yogasana Sports Association and with support from the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, organised a series of Block-Level Yogasana Sports Championships under Mylliem and Mawpat blocks to identify grassroots talent for the upcoming district and state-level competitions.
The talent search programme was conducted throughout the month across different localities in the district, aiming to provide young participants with a platform to showcase their skills and promote yogasana as a competitive sport.
On Sunday, the championship was held at Mission Compound, Mawprem, where a total of 46 boys and girls took part in the event.
Organisers said the initiative was aimed at strengthening grassroots development and encouraging more young athletes to participate in yogasana competitions at higher levels.
