SHILLONG, April 28: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday informed that the joint survey of the state government and Defence authorities for the proposed four-lane road from Rilbong till Barik has begun.
“The survey with Defence authority is on and once it is completed, they will prepare the DPR”, he informed.
Asked if the four-lane road would resolve traffic issues in the area, Tynsong said that the government initially preferred an elevated road but the Defence authorities advised the government to construct a four-lane road instead of an elevated road owing to safety issues.
