172 students conferred degrees, diplomas at NEAU convocation

JOWAI, April 28: North East Adventist University (NEAU) held its 4th Convocation at its Kliehtyrshi campus recently, where 172 students were conferred with degrees and diplomas. The graduating class included 89 undergraduates, 76 postgraduates, and seven diploma recipients in Medical Laboratory Technology.
According to a statement here, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
An alumnus of the 1991 batch, Dhar shared reflections from his own student days and urged the graduates to maintain resilience and self-confidence. He highlighted state government initiatives like CM-ELEVATE and CM-INSPIRE, designed to support career advancement and civil services.
“Everyone is a leader,” he remarked, encouraging the youth to reject limitations and pursue their goals with determination.
Chancellor Ch. John Victor, on the other hand, encouraged the graduates to face future challenges with integrity and faith, while Vice Chancellor Dr. Paul Bhaggien acknowledged the chief guest’s service to the state.
The ceremony included the presentation of gold medals to seven students for academic excellence, overseen by Controller of Examinations Dr. Lalrenga Colney. Registrar Dr. Andrew Zimik conducted the formal conferral of degrees.
During the event, the Class of 2025 was formally inducted into the ATS Alumni Association. Additionally, the university’s Liaison and Development Officer, Dr. Jemima M. Marak, submitted a memorandum regarding campus development to the Deputy CM.
