The Cannes Film Festival 2026, scheduled from May 12 to May 23 in France, will feature a strong Indian presence across regional and mainstream cinema.
Actor-singer Ammy Virk will attend for the first time with his Punjabi film Chardikala, alongside co-star Roopi Gill.
Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker will represent India as part of the official delegation in his role as director of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
Marathi cinema will be represented by Ashok Saraf, Nivedita Saraf, Prajakta Mali, and producer Kedar Joshi, while Gujarati cinema will be showcased by Mansi Parekh and Parthiv Gohil.
Malayalam filmmaker Chidambaram will present his film Balan: The Boy at the Cannes market.
Bollywood will also have a strong presence, with appearances expected from Karan Johar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Alia Bhatt, along with other actors including Tara Sutaria, Mouni Roy, and Pooja Batra.
