SHILLONG, May 5: The NPP has expressed doubts over the claims of BJP that the saffron party would lead the government in Meghalaya after the 2028 Assembly elections.
Reacting to BJP’s confident claims, following its thumping wins in West Bengal and Assam, Cabinet Minister and NPP leader Wailadmiki Shylla said the party has just two MLAs in the state and the duo won the elections in their personal capacity and not because of the party.
Dismissing BJP’s claims that NPP will be wiped out from the state, he said that everything depends on the mandate of the people.
“It appears that people are still trusting us and we cannot deny the kind of development taking place under this government,” he said.
