SCBA urges CJI’s intervention over Andhra HC lawyer custody row

New Delhi, May 6: Expressing “deep concern and shock” over the reported detention of a young lawyer during proceedings before the Andhra Pradesh High Court, the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Wednesday urged CJI Surya Kant to take “appropriate institutional cognizance” of the matter and consider corrective measures.
The body said the incident has triggered “serious concern” among members of the Bar and has “deeply disappointed young members of the legal profession”. (IANS)
