National Lok Adalat settles 183 cases in state

SHILLONG, May 9: The National Lok Adalat on Saturday settled 183 cases across Meghalaya, involving a total settlement amount of Rs 1.34 crore.
Organised by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), the Lok Adalat was conducted in the High Court of Meghalaya and all districts of the state.
A total of 625 cases were taken up for settlement, comprising 242 pre-litigation and 383 pending cases.
The exercise was held under the patronage of Chief Justice Revati Mohite Dere, who is also the Patron-in-Chief of the MSLSA.
It was supervised by Justice H.S. Thangkhiew, Executive Chairman of the MSLSA, and Justice W. Diengdoh, Chairperson of the High Court Legal Services Committee.
