Census: Chief Secy completes self-enumeration

SHILLONG, May 12: Chief Secretary Dr Shakeel P Ahammed on Tuesday completed the self-enumeration process for the House-Listing Operations (HLO) of Census 2027 via online portal.
The self-enumeration phase in Meghalaya officially began on May 1, 2026, as part of a digital initiative to ensure efficient and accurate data collection across the state.
The process was conducted in the presence of Commissioner and Secretary and State Nodal Officer Dr. Pooja Pandey, and Secretary Swapnil Tembe. Also in attendance were Subhasish Chatterjee and Aibor Sanglyne from the Directorate of Census Operations, Meghalaya.
Officials stated that the online portal is one of the key digital tools developed to make the House-Listing Operations more convenient and user-friendly for citizens.
