KV Umroi student bags top prize at ISRO space prog

SHILLONG, May 23: Adarsh Singh, a Class X student of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Umroi Cantt, has bagged the first prize at the prestigious YUva VIgyani KAryakram (YUVIKA-2026), organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
The programme, held at the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC) from May 11 to 22, was designed to introduce students to space science, satellite technology and scientific research.
Singh was part of the project team that won the top spot for their presentation titled ‘Detection and Analysis of Earth’s Dynamic Movements Through the Eyes of Satellites’.
The project highlighted the application of satellite technology in monitoring and analysing terrestrial changes.
The school fraternity has, meanwhile, expressed pride in the achievement and noted that such platforms provide invaluable learning opportunities and encourage students in the region to pursue careers in science and space research.
