Los Angeles, May 28: The United States have announced their 26-member squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, with Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie set to lead the team at the global showpiece on home soil.
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino has largely retained the core of players who featured at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, as the USA prepare to face Australia, Paraguay and Türkiye in Group D.
AC Milan star Pulisic remains the headline name in the squad after playing a key role during the previous World Cup, where he scored once and registered two assists. Juventus midfielder McKennie is also expected to be central to the team’s plans with his energy and versatility in midfield.Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Gio Reyna has also been included despite limited game time at club level. Pochettino is expected to rely on Reyna’s creativity and attacking vision during the tournament.In goal, Matt Freese and Matt Turner will battle for the No. 1 position, with Freese emerging as a strong contender following his impressive performances during the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
