Awareness drive on menstrual hygiene, HPV vaccination held

SHILLONG, May 29: JCI Shillong Pinecity organised an awareness programme on menstrual hygiene and HPV vaccination to educate the youths on women’s health and preventive care.
According to a statement here, the session featured Dr. Alok Deb, a gynecologist and laparoscopic surgeon, who discussed the importance of breaking social stigmas and fostering open conversations about hygiene.
Dr. Deb highlighted the role of HPV vaccination in early prevention and its significance in ensuring long-term health.
The initiative sought to provide participants with accurate medical information regarding women’s wellness and the benefits of timely vaccination.
The organisers have, meanwhile, thanked Dr. Deb for his contribution to the programme.
