Alia Bhatt will be seen playing a killer in Alpha, raised and trained to kill. News about her character in the upcoming Yash Raj Films’ entertainer Alpha was doing the rounds on social media. However, a source close working with the production confirmed to IANS: “Alia Bhatt is definitely playing a killer in Alpha.” “She isn’t like the goody good heroes that the YRF Spy Universe has introduced so far and is, in fact, as assassin who has been raised and trained to kill. She isn’t a spy. She is an alpha killer,” said the source. When contacted, YRF spokesperson did not deny the news. (IANS)
Emily Blunt avoids AI to record sound effects in Disclosure Day
Hollywood star Emily Blunt says she chose to record the inhuman, alien clicking and breathing sounds in her upcoming film Disclosure Day herself instead of relying on Artificial Intelligence, as she is terrified of it. Blunt features in Steven Spielberg’s film, which is set to release in theatres on June 12. It is produced by Universal Pictures. The actor, who recently featured in The Devil Wears Prada 2, said an extra microphone was placed near her throat while recording. She was initially given a choice by the filmmaker to use AI. (PTI)
Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman team up for new docuseries
Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are teaming up again, this time for an untitled docuseries about SailGP’s BONDS Flying Roos Australian team, which they jointly own. The project has been greenlit by streaming service Disney+ and will be produced by Reynolds’ banner Maximum Effort and Eureka Productions in partnership with SailGP and the BONDS Flying Roos team. The docuseries will track the celebrity duo alongside Australia’s elite sailors as they compete in the stadium-style championship, where identical 50-foot catamarans race in close-to-shore courses at speeds of up to 100 km/h, according to a statement by Disney+. The docuseries will be available exclusively on Disney+ internationally and on Disney+ and Hulu in the US. (PTI)

Acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and Academy Award-winning composer A R Rahman are joining forces for Masoom: The New Generation, a contemporary reimagining of Kapur’s beloved 1983 classic. Rahman, who earlier collaborated with Kapur for his Hollywood movie Elizabeth: The Golden Age as well as musical theatre productions Bombay Dreams and Why? The Musical, is coming on board not just as composer but also as co-producer. Directed by Kapur, the film is set to explore themes of identity, family, love and migration through a modern lens while retaining the emotional core of the original. (PTI)
