Kangana plants tree under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut planted a sapling in Bhubaneswar on World Environment Day as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
The BJP MP expressed happiness at participating in the initiative, which encourages people to plant trees in honour of their mothers and promote environmental conservation.
During her visit to Odisha, Kangana also met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi while promoting her upcoming film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata. She said the film’s team was excited after the Chief Minister agreed to watch the movie.
Speaking about the title, Kangana revealed that it was inspired by a phrase used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to describe labourers.
She said the term deeply resonated with the filmmakers. In the movie, Kangana plays a dedicated staff nurse whose contributions often go unnoticed.
The film is backed by multiple production houses, including PEN Studios and Manikarnika Films.
Bhumi posts poetic message
for Environment Day
Actress Bhumi Pednekar shared a heartfelt message celebrating nature and urging people to adopt sustainable lifestyles. Posting photos and videos on Instagram, she reflected on humanity’s relationship with the Earth, describing rivers, forests and mountains as selfless providers that ask for little in return.
Bhumi encouraged people to move “from awareness to action” and embrace greater environmental responsibility.
She wrote that the Earth is humanity’s oldest home and greatest inheritance, calling on everyone to leave it in a better condition for future generations.
The images showed the actress enjoying nature, including washing her face by a riverside and hugging a tree.
Known for her environmental advocacy, Bhumi used the occasion to highlight the importance of conservation and mindful living.
On the professional front, she was last seen in the Prime Video series Daldal and is set to star opposite Imran Khan in an upcoming romantic comedy. (Agencies)
