Pakistan issues 737 visas to Indian pilgrims to take part in annual festival
NEW DELHI, June 8: The Pakistan High Commission here has issued 737 visas to Indian pilgrims to participate in an annual festival to be held ahead of the martyrdom day of a revered Sikh Guru, from June 10-19, according to an official statement.The high commission in New Delhi made the announcement in the statement issued on Monday.The Pakistan High Commission has issued 737 visas to pilgrims from India to participate in the annual festival scheduled on the eve of the martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, to be held in Pakistan from June 10-19, it said.During the visit, the pilgrims would, inter alia, visit Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, it said.The issuance of visas is in the line with the government of Pakistan’s commitment to fully implement the Bilateral Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974, it said. Bihar minister’s vehicle pelted with stones
MADHUBANI, June 8: Bihar Labour Resources Minister Arun Shankar Prasad’s vehicle was pelted with stones in Madhubani district during his visit to an accident victim’s house, police said on Monday.The windshield of the vehicle was damaged, but the minister was unhurt as he was at the gate of the victim’s house.Police arrested seven people, including three women, in connection with the incident.The incident took place on Sunday evening when the minister visited Thahar village in as the local MLA to offer condolences to the family of a person killed in a road accident on Friday night. Senior police officers, including the DIG (Mithila Range) and Madhubani SP, went to the spot and met the minister, officials said. An FIR has been registered. (PTI)
