NPP youth wing rues absence of gazette officers

SHILLONG: The NPP youth wing of South Garo Hills District Committee has rued that on Monday, there were no gazetted officers present in the district headquarter, Baghmara except for few magistrates in the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

NPP Youth Wing district president Perpen D Marak alleged that the people of the area had to face lots of hardship for attesting their documents since July 8 was the last date for submission of applications for schemes from Khadi Board.

Witnessing the plight of the people Satto R Marak, Ex MLA of Baghmara tried to help few of them and approached one Superintendent of Excise South Garo Hills Shri Michael Momin, but it was shocking to see the rough behaviour of the officer who not only ) refused to attest the documents but also shouted rudely at the Ex MLA and ordered him to get out of his office premises and get the attestation done elsewhere.

Taking strong cognizance of the incident, NPP Youth, South Garo Hills District Committee has condemned the behaviour of the said rough officer and warned of stern action if the said officer continued to harass the people of the area in the same manner.

He said that the officer concern should learn some etiquette and stop behaving in an uncivilised manner. The NPP youth wing has demanded an unconditional apology.
