SHILLONG: The principal secretary in charge social welfare department PW Ingty has sought one more month to complete the administrative probe into the death of Balsan Marak in judicial custody.

Ingty, who is also the commissioner of divisions for Garo Hills, said that he has sought one more month as he has to get some more relevant papers related to the case.

Besides, the magistrate DD Shira probing the custodial death of Balsan has also written to District Medial and Health Officer to provide the toxicology and viscera reports.

An official source said that since the magistrate does not want to hurry to complete the probe he had sought additional toxicology and viscera reports to ascertain the cause of death of Balsan.

Earlier, the magisterial inquiry report of SC Sadhu on the assault of 12 girls was hurriedly prepared sparking criticism as he had not recorded the statements of the victims.
