Actor Ajay Devgn is set to headline Chauhaan, an action entertainer which will be released in theatres on October 1, 2027, the makers announced on Thursday. The project was announcement on the birth anniversary of Devgn’s father Veeru Devgan, who was one of Hindi cinema’s most celebrated stunt choreographers. Presented by Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions, the film will be directed by Neeraj Yadav, known for his work as a writer on movies such as An Action Hero and Tere Ishk Mein. Chauhaan is being produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma. (PTI)

Rajkummar Rao as the renowned public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam. Avinash Arun, the director of Three of Us and Paatal Lok, has helmed the project, which will release in theatres on August 7. ‘Why did it take so long to hang Kasab? Rajkummar Rao as Ujjwal Nikam unfolds the truth in PRAHAAR. In cinemas 7th August, 2026,’ Maddock Films posted on Instagram. Nikam, best known for leading the prosecutions in the 1993 Mumbai bombings and the 26/11 terror attacks. Besides Prahaar, Rajkummar will also headline the biopic on cricket legend Sourav Ganguly. Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu return for Mirzapur: The Movie
The makers of Mirzapur: The Movie on Thursday unveiled the teaser of the much-awaited film, offering a glimpse into the theatrical expansion of the popular crime drama series led by Ali Fazal and Pankaj Tripathi. The film marks the first big-screen outing for the Mirzapur universe, which debuted as a streaming series in 2018 and went on to become one of India’s most successful OTT franchises. The over two-minute long teaser brings back the lawless world of Mirzapur, where the battle for power continues amid a barrage of bullets, betrayals and bloody rivalries. The movie is set in 2018, hinting at an untold chapter from the first season of the show. The teaser then offers first glimpses into fan-favourite characters — Guddu Pandit (Fazal), Kaleen Bhaiya (Tripathi) and Munna Tripathi (Divyenndu). Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, Mirzapur: The Movie is slated to release in theatres on September 4 in Hindi and Telugu. (PTI)
Samantha Ruth Prabhu confirms pregnancy
Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has confirmed that she is expecting her first child with husband Raj Nidimoru, saying she will soon take a break from acting. Samantha on Wednesday celebrated the success of her new movie Maa Inti Bangaaram, an action drama from filmmaker Nandini Reddy. The movie, which released last week, has received unanimous praise from the critics and earned over Rs 50 crores at the global box office. ‘After Maa Inti Bangaaram, I will have to take a small break, given my condition. I’ll have to take maternity leave. After that, I’ll be back with another film for my fans,” Samantha told reporters. (PTI)
