Two ULFA militants nabbed

Guwahati: Two ULFA militants have been arrested in a joint operation by the Army and Assam Police and arms recovered from them. An Army release said that the two, who were out to extort, was apprehended near Balbola Bridge on NH-17 on Wednesday night. One rifle, one 9 mm pistol, some ammunition and a motorcycle were seized from their possession. In recent months, activities of ULFA and various other Meghalaya-based terrorist groups have increased in Goalpara district. (PTI)
