SHILLONG, July 5: St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Mawjrong, East Khasi Hills, officially formed its Past Pupils’ Association during an alumni meet on Saturday. The association aims to strengthen ties among former students, foster unity, and support the institution’s growth through various educational and social initiatives.
The newly elected office-bearers include Skhembor Myrthong (President), Serofin Kharkongor (Vice-President), Wilfred Mawniuh (General Secretary), Robin Star Nongrum (Assistant Secretary), Shasha Mary Synrem (Finance Secretary), Kitborlang Kharkongor (Publicity Secretary), Barishisha Nongrum (Sports Secretary), Osbornson Kharkongor (Assistant Sports Secretary), Lakmen Mary Nongkhlaw (Social Secretary), and Barisuk Nongkhlaw (Education Secretary).
School Principal Fr. Anthony Malai and School Management Committee President Babu Darius Mawlieh will serve as ex-officio advisers.
Addressing the gathering, the newly elected president, Skhembor Myrthong, thanked the alumni and stated that the association would focus on creating opportunities for former students to contribute to the school’s development. He also expressed gratitude to the management and teachers for their role in shaping the students’ lives.
The programme also featured addresses by Fr. Anthony Malai and senior teacher Charlene Sawian, who has been with the school for nearly three decades. The association hopes to serve as a long-term platform for alumni to remain connected and contribute to the welfare of future generations.
