Special traffic arrangement for Behdeinkhlam

JOWAI: In view of the Behdeinkhlam festival in Jowai which will commence on July 13 and culminate on July 16, the Jowai Traffic Police has enforced a suitable traffic arrangement.
According to a press release, issued by the WJH Superintendent of police, all Shillong-Jowai-Ummulong commercial vehicles including Maruti van, Tata Sumo and Indica will not be allowed to park at the Shillong Sumo Stand, starting from 2pm till 5pm, on July 13.  Vehicles, during these hours, must be parked at the Myntdu Bridge instead. However, only one vehicle, at a time, will be allowed to park at the Shillong Sumo stand for the purpose of boarding passengers alone.
In addition, on July 14, no trucks from Shillong will be allowed to enter Jowai town from 9am to 5pm. All trucks must be parked along the side of NH-44 at Khliehtyrshi and trucks from East Jaintia Hills must be parked near the road at Phramer.
Light vehicles coming from Shillong must be parked at Challam Syngkon Petrol Pump/Myntdu Bridge while those coming from the Khliehriat area must be parked at Ladthadlaboh Stadium, Jowai.
Vehicles coming from Civil Hospital, Jowai will not be allowed to enter Tpeppale and will have to be diverted from Mission Compound through Chutwakhu, internal road. No Entry points will be erected  at Mission Compound Junction towards Iawmusiang, Jowai and at Chutwakhu Junction towards Iawmusiang through H K Singh School,Jowai.
All the vehicles coming from Dawki and its periphery will be allowed to park at Dawki Stand and a No Entry point would be erected at SP’s Office junction towards Iawmusiang, Jowai.
Further, on July 15, from 9am to 5pm, no vehicles will be allowed to enter Iawmusiang, Jowai town. Light vehicles coming from Shillong must be parked on the Shillong-Jowai road starting from Myntdu Bridge up to Challam Syngkon Petrol Pump, while, the same coming  from  Khliehriat must  be  parked  at  Ladthadlaboh Stadium, Jowai. Vehicles  coming  from  Civil  Hospital,  Jowai  will  not be allowed to enter  Tpeppale,  Dulong,Iongpiah, Panaliar, Mission Compound up to Mynthong. Light vehicles coming from Dawki must be parked along the Jowai-Amlarem-Dawki-road.
