SHILLONG, July 8: The Lions Club of Shillong Orchid announced the upcoming Pine City Open Chess Tournament 2026 scheduled to take place from July 17-18, 2026.
The two-day event will be hosted on the 2nd Floor of the Rajasthan Vishram Bhavan, near BBS College.
The tournament features a time control format of 60 minutes plus a 5-minute sudden death if a game remains incomplete.
With a total prize pool distributed across three distinct age categories (U- 11, 11-16yrs, and open), the tournament aims to foster young talent while giving seasoned players a platform to compete.
The final deadline for registration is July 15, 2026.
