Over 100 SWGH shops closed over trading licence

AMPATI, July 9: The Deputy CEM of the Garo Hills Autonomous Council (GHADC), Stevie M Marak, led a crackdown on Tuesday morning against businesses operating near the Assam border in South West Garo Hills, resulting in the closure of over 100 shops.
The inspections took place in the villages of Bansali, Mir Jumla, Chandamari, and Chon-donpara. Marak verified essential documentation, including Trading by Non-Tribals (TNT) licences and required No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Marak, the NPP MDC representing the Boldamgre constituency, stated that similar operations will be conducted across Garo Hills to ensure all businesses comply with regional regulations.
