Unclaimed body
A body of an unidentified man lying at around 6:20 pm on July 5 inside the old Sales Tax Building at Byrnihat Proper. According to Office of the Ri-Bhoi Superintendent of Police, it was learnt during a subsequent inquiry that the deceased was a homeless person who was mentally unstable and was often seen loitering in the Byrnihat area. The body was then shifted to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for inquest and post-mortem examination. The body has since then been kept at the mortuary of the aforesaid hospital. Meanwhile, the deceased is aged about 35 to 40 years, approximately 5.3 feet tall, with a skinny build, swarthy complexion, a moustache and short black hair. He was wearing a pair of white shorts at the time he was found. Police have, meanwhile, urged all concerned to contact 9856084514 for identification of the deceased.
