New Delhi, July 13: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not ruled out a return for former T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, with a board source indicating that the experienced batter remains in contention if he performs consistently in domestic cricket.
Suryakumar, who was recently left out of India’s immediate plans following changes to the T20I setup, is not currently being considered for selection. However, the BCCI has made it clear that his international career is far from over.
“Doors for Suryakumar Yadav are still open. He is not currently in the scheme of things, but he remains eligible to come back if he scores runs in domestic cricket consistently,” a BCCI source said. The 35-year-old has been one of India’s most accomplished T20 batters in recent years. (Agencies)
