SHILLONG, July 18: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in East Khasi Hills is progressing steadily, with over 84 per cent of Enumeration Forms (EFs) distributed across the district’s 15 Assembly constituencies.
According to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election), 3,44,242 forms have been distributed out of 4,08,542 electors since the enumeration phase began on June 30. As of Saturday evening, 85,168 forms, accounting for 20.85 per cent of the electorate, had been digitised.
Constituency-wise data shows that Mawryngkneng recorded the highest distribution at 95.48 per cent, followed by Mawlai (87.54%), North Shillong (85.83%), East Shillong (83.37%) and Pynthorumkhrah (81.89%).
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were present at 898 polling parts on Saturday to facilitate the distribution and collection of forms. The exercise was supervised by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), who also assisted in the filling and digitisation of the documents.
The District SIR Helpline has resolved all 98 queries received so far.
Deputy Commissioner (Election) Abhilash Baranwal has, meanwhile, urged all eligible voters to cooperate with officials to ensure the creation of an accurate and updated electoral roll.
