Accident

On July 22, at about 8.15am, a Tata Sumo vehicle driven by one Nickfulson Lyngdoh (33) rammed a scooter at Lad Umsaw (RB). As a result, the scooter rider, who was identified as one Pyrkhatlang Kurbah, sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Assault

On July 23, at around 1am, Jordan Syiem (19) was found lying on a roadside at Lower Nongrim Hills, Shillong and was later shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong. Police have suspected that Syiem was assaulted.

One Rudy Elbert Kharmawphlang lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS, that on July 14, unknown miscreants damaged the back lights and side glass of his vehicle at Nongrimmaw, Laitumkhrah and also scribbled offensive language on the vehicle.

Rape

A person lodged a complaint at Nongstoin PS, in June, 2014, one fourteen-year-old boy raped his two daughters aged ten and two, in a village (WKH).

Body Found

On July 21, at about 3.30pm, one highly decomposed unidentified male dead body was recovered from a forest at Maikhuli village (RB). Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was sent to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for post mortem.

On July 21, one unidentified male dead body (35) was recovered from Khlooshnong, Datsimpein, Ladrymbai (EJH). Necessary formalities were observed.

On July 21 evening, police recovered the dead body of one Md. Rosafulla Sheikh of Duguripara (SWGH) from Burny Hills, Tura (WGH).

Theft

One Kitlang Lato lodged a complaint at Jowai PS, that on July 21, unknown miscreants stole batteries valued around Rs. 82,000 from Thadlaskein village (WJH).

One AK Azew of Hills Cement Company Ltd., Mynkre lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS, that on July 19, unknown miscreants stole a thirty meter long electric cable from Mynkre (EJH).

One Sukhinder Singh lodged a complaint at Khanapara PS that on July 19, at around 9.30pm, his dumper truck (AS-01CC-7578) was found missing from Khanapara petrol pump (RB).

Illicit Trade

On July 21, during routine checking at Shillong-Nongstoin Road (WKH), Police detected four coal laden trucks- (AS-01DC-2179) driven by Md. Monsur Ahmed (31); (ML-06-6269) driven by Rosanus Lyngdoh (25), (ML-06-5821) driven by Sloly Marbaniang (62) and (ML-06-6007) driven by Plorian Lyngdoh (45). Police arrested the drivers and later released them on bail, while the trucks were seized.
