Contraband items seized, smugglers nabbed by BSF

SHILLONG: BSF troops have, in the last two weeks, apprehended two Indian GNLA linkmen, two Indian and a Bangladeshi smuggler and two Indian and two Bangladeshi nationals on the international border with Bangladesh.

BSF troopers have also seized 844.187 cu.ft. wooden log, 749 bottles of liquor, 30 cattle heads, 10 bottles of phensedyl , one motorcycle and other contraband items worth over Rs.27 lakh while being smuggled out from India to Bangladesh.

Apprehended person and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.
