Infant’s body recovered

On August 26 around 4.30 pm, the body of a female infant (7/8 months) was recovered from Wahthangsniang stream, Demseiniong, Shillong.

Vehicle intercepted

On August 25 midnight, while on Naka checking duty at MES Junction, Rilbong, Shillong Police signalled one Mahindra Jeep (ML-10-4245) driven by Ranbir Kumar Rai (23) to stop, but the jeep sped away and on being chased they intercepted it at Mawroh near Police Training School, Shillong, and recovered and seized rolls of telephone cables from the vehicle. Police arrested the driver and another occupant who is a minor (15).

Hit-and-run case

On August 17 around 12.20 am, one truck (NL-01K-9507) dashed against a truck (ML-04B-7116) driven by Lik Sunar at Khlieh Tyrshi (WJH). As a result Lik Sunar sustained injuries and was shifted to CH, Jowai.

On August 25 around 6 pm, one vehicle (number not known) knocked down two pedestrians, Sambor Syiemlieh (21) and Tieming Kharsyiemiong (21) at Sadew village under Mawngap OP (EKH). Victims sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital, Shillong.

Privacy violation

A woman of Nehru A.ding Hawakhana, Tura (WGH) lodged a complaint at Tura Women PS that one unknown person is using her (complainant) picture on his Facebook profile.
