ICAR field day on Jhum Improvement

SHILLONG: ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, as part of its flagship programme on Jhum Improvement on participatory mode across the NE Region, organised a field day on Jhum Improvement at Sonidan, Ri-Bhoi District on August 30.

Dr. Satish Chandra, Head, Plant Health, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the first-ever Jhum facilitation centre and suggested the farming community for rational and optimal used of natural resources in conjunction with improved techniques for enhanced income and sustainability.

The farmers were exposed to learning sites wherein the interventions where made. Altogether 150 farmers and 25 scientists and technical experts participated in the programme.
