SHILLONG: The CSWO has condemned the ‘brutal and horrific act’ of caning perpetrated by terrorists in East Garo Hills, where villagers were thrashed because they were suspected to be informers.

CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing said that this will not be tolerated in a civilized society and people should not be terrorized by any group or community.

“People should not fear to inform the right authorities on any criminal act and such terrorists have no right to stop them,” she added.

According to Kharshiing, such cruelty to individuals especially in the villages is ghastly and any rebels torturing and killing helpless people are undeniably terrorists and have to face justice.
