SHILLONG: 10 years ago, inclement weather on a September 22 afternoon, resulted in a chopper crash killing all 10 persons on board including several legislators, both sitting and former, and other officials.

10 years later, on the same day, flashfloods and landslide brought devastation in the State killing scores of people and damaging houses, buildings and properties.

The death toll till date has crossed 50 and damage to properties, both Government and private, is in terms of over Rs 2,000 crore.
