Govt asks public to donate for floods, landslides victims in State

SHILLONG: In view of the recent devastation caused by floods and landslides, especially in certain parts of Garo Hills, the Government of Meghalaya has decided to issue instructions to the Deputy Commissioners of the Districts to accept contributions in kind from any members of the public who want to join hands in helping the flood victims.

The Government has appealed to the general public to come forward in contributing clothing items, schools and college text-books, blankets or any useful household items for distribution of the same to the flood-affected people.

Further, the Government also appealed to the general public to contribute generously towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Such remittances may be handed through their respective Deputy Commissioners or to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Shillong.
