New Delhi: Former Union Minister V Narayanasamy, who has been made the in-charge of Congress affairs in Northeastern states including Meghalaya replacing Luizinho Faleiro, will visit Shillong this month.

Talking to The Shillong Times here, Narayanswamy said that he would formally assume charge on October 15, after the elections are over in Maharashtra and Haryana. He is campaigning for the party in both the states.

“I shall first have a talk with the leader of the CLP Mukul Sangma and MPCC chief D D Lapang before visiting the state,” Narayanswamy said.

He will also visit other six North-East states barring Assam.

Meanwhile, the Shillong MP Vincent H Pala on Thursday met Naryanswamy and congratulated him for his new assignment.

“It was a courtesy call,” Pala later said.
