State 2nd in growth chart, claims CM

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has claimed that Meghalaya stands second in growth statistics clocking over 10% gross state domestic product (GSDP) growth during 2013-14.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 18 Degree festival on Thursday, Sangma said that the statistics revealed that Meghalaya has overtaken several bigger states in the growth chart.

“We have shown that Meghalaya is capable of moving forward despite adversaries,” Sangma told reporters,.

Stating that the Meghalaya Government has embarked on making Meghalaya as destination for positive things, Sangma said that the Government’s endeavor would create many opportunities for the three million people of the state.
