SHILLONG: The formal handing over of the administrative control of the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MPSCB) by PHE department to the Forest and Environment department has finally been completed.

Informing this here on Thursday, Forest and Environment Minister Prestone Tynsong said that CP Marak, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, was made the new chairman of the Board.

The formal handing over was done after the PHE department created a post to absorb Additional Chief Engineer M Allya, who was functioning as the chairman of the MSPCB on deputation.

It may be recalled that the State Cabinet on May 2 had approved the transfer of the administrative control of the MPSCB to the Forest and Environment department from PHE department.
