NONGPOH: DSC-passed candidate under the umbrella of Ri Bhoi District Selection Committee Passed Candidates’ Association (RBDSCPCA) called their indefinite hunger strike on Friday after the State Government agreed to extend the validity of the 2010 merit list by another three months.

15 DSC-passed candidates had been staging an indefinite hunger strike since Tuesday demanding extension of the validity of the merit list and also to accommodate them in the vacant posts of helpers and peons in various departments in Ri Bhoi.

RBDSCPCA president B Shylla, while informing of the development, expressed hope that the State Government will take initiative to accommodate the 15 candidates in vacant posts.

The RBDSCPCA also expressed its gratitude to all those who had supported them in their agitation programme, and the State Government and the Ri Bhoi District Administration for considering their plea.
